Scotford Upgrader (APS1) is located at the Shell Scotford complex northeast of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. It is used to meet the thermal and power needs of the Athabasca Oilsands Upgrader. This gas-fired cogeneration asset is owned and operated by Heartland Generation. It includes a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG), an Alstom steam turbine, and a GE 75A gas-fired turbine, with a maximum capability of 195 MW.
