Muskeg River (MKR1) provides power and steam for oil sands processing, with a maximum capability of 202 MW. This asset is located at the Muskeg River Mine (MRM) Cogeneration Station near Fort McKay, Alberta. This asset includes two GE 7EA gas-fired turbine generator sets and two heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs). It began commercial operation in 2003. This asset is owned by Heartland Generation Ltd.
