Genesee #3 (GN3) is a dual-fuel (coal and gas-fired) power plant; it is jointly owned by Capital Power and TransAlta. The asset is operated by Capital Power (G3) Limited partnership. Commissioned in 2005, this plant incorporates technologies that reduce CO2, NOx and SO2 emissions more than older power plants. Fuel is provided by a nearby coal mine. This plant is located near Warburg, Alberta and its Maximum Capability (MC) is 466 MW.
GN1, GN2, and GN3 are separate assets located at the same facility.
