Whitla (WHT1) is a new wind generation asset owned by Capital Power that began construction in September 2018 and went online a year later. It is one of the largest wind power generation assets in Alberta at a maximum capability of 202 MW.
The first phase of the project installed 56 Vesta V136 wind turbines at a cost of $325 million. After future expansion, it is expected to eventually have a capability of 299 MW.
