Genesee Repower 1 (GNR1) is a 411 MW gas-fired asset located at the Genesee Generating Station, west of Edmonton, Alberta. It uses a Mitsubishi M501JAC gas-fired combustion turbine and came online in April 2024.
Later in 2024 the refurbished turbine from the former coal plant GN1 will be tied-in, and will come online as a natural gas combined cycle generation asset.
The Genesee Generation Station is owned by Capital Power and also includes GN1, GN2, and GN3.
